• The person is passed out or unresponsive and cannot be awakened 
• Cold, clammy, pale or bluish skin 
• Breathing is slow or irregular, with 10 seconds or more between breaths 
• Vomiting while "sleeping" or passed out, and not waking after vomiting 
• Unable to stand or walk without help

• Plan your night out  
• Set a drink limit and stick to that number 
• Eat before and while drinking 
• Pace yourself at 1 drink per hour, or space it out further 
• Sip your drink 
• Keep track of how much you consume 
• Avoid excessive drinking or binge drinking 
• Avoid shots and drinking games 
• Drink water/non-alcoholic beverages between alcoholic ones 
• Beware of unfamiliar drinks 
• Limit drinking on a hot day 
• Figure out your ride home before you go out 

• B-A-S-I-C-S stands for Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students. 

  The program is designed to assist students utilizing a risk-reduction approach and helping them examine their own behavior in a non-judgment environment. Some aspects of the program include helping students identify substance use strategies that work for them and helping them build skills to utilize them in real-life application settings.

A-S-T-P stands for Alcohol Skills Training Program 

ASTP is a 90-minute program with the goal of teaching students ways to drink alcohol that minimizes risks to their health and safety. Students will learn the psychology and biology of alcohol use and develop skills on how to count and pour standard drinks, properly measure alcohol consumption, find their personalized “limits”, and discuss how to use risk reduction strategies for a fun and safe night out.
