When it comes to managing your time, you’re not alone. The UF Community is here to offer you the resources you need to reach your max potential. This summer we hosted a series called the Time Management Expedition. This allowed campus partners the opportunity to share common questions they receive. Review the information below to learn how to improve your time management skills.

What is the Time Management Expedition

The Center for Outdoor Recreation and Education (CORE)

CORE is the Center for Outdoor Recreation and Education at the University of Florida, providing outdoor gear rental, adventure trips, and education about the outdoors to the UF Community! CORE is located behind the Southwest Rec Center on Bledsoe Drive.

Students should make time to get outdoors because the benefits are immense! Time in the outdoors is shown to promote relaxation, a sense of belonging, and a boost in mood and energy.  Even if you’re a busy student, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature! Gainesville has a lot of green spaces and parks in the city limits, including Paynes’ Prairie, San Felasco, Sweetwater Wetlands, and many others! A half hour away High Springs has lots of springs and rivers for tubing and picnics, and a 90 minute drive will get you to Cedar Key or St. Augustine beaches. Try replacing a planned inside hang with a friend to go exploring with them instead!

If you’re interested in leading a trip yourself, you can apply for the Outdoor Leadership Course during the fall semester. The Outdoor Leadership Course is a semester long course held in the spring, which meets once a week plus weekend trips. The course provides all the training that you need to become an outdoor trip leader. Space is limited, so apply early. Learn More
